  • 4 potatoes, diced
  • 1 cabbage, cut into wedges
  • Water, enough to cover

Instructions

  1. Rinse the corned beef under cold water.
  2. Place the brisket in a large pot.
  3. Add peppercorns, mustard seeds, garlic, and onion.
  4. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  6. Add carrots and potatoes, cooking for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Add cabbage and cook for 15 more minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.
