A simple recipe for homemade sourdough bagels.

- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon baking soda (for boiling)
- Toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine sourdough starter, flour, salt, sugar, and water.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into bagels.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Boil water and add baking soda.
- Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Place bagels on a baking sheet and add toppings.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use a strong sourdough starter for best results.
- Experiment with different toppings.
- Store bagels in an airtight container.
