Crispy Air Fryer Honey Garlic Salmon Bites to Savor

  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skinless and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add salmon pieces to the bowl and toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the salmon is marinating, rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium pot, combine rice and water with a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Place the marinated salmon pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the salmon is crispy and cooked through.
  6. While the salmon cooks, prepare the asparagus. In a bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place in the air fryer after the salmon has cooked for 4-5 minutes, cooking until tender and slightly crispy.
  7. Once everything is cooked, serve the crispy salmon bites over a bed of jasmine rice, garnish with sesame seeds, and add the air-fried asparagus on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Ensure the salmon is cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  • You can substitute jasmine rice with brown rice or quinoa if desired.
