Description
These crispy smashed potatoes are perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside while remaining fluffy on the inside. Made in the air fryer, they are a quick and easy side dish that is completely addictive.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds baby potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and scrub the baby potatoes until clean. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, place each potato on a cutting board and gently smash it with the bottom of a glass or a potato masher.
- In a large bowl, combine the smashed potatoes, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the potatoes evenly.
- Place the smashed potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Be sure not to overcrowd them.
- Air fry the potatoes for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add grated Parmesan cheese before air frying.
- Adjust the cooking time based on the size of your potatoes; smaller potatoes will cook faster.
- These potatoes are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
