Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken breast and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve the chicken and cabbage stir fry over steamed jasmine rice and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for extra nutrition.
  • You can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
  • Adjust the sauce quantities to taste if you prefer a stronger flavor.
