This easy chicken and cabbage stir fry is a quick and delicious meal, perfect for busy weeknights. Served with fluffy steamed jasmine rice, it’s a wholesome dish bursting with flavor.

- 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups cooked jasmine rice
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced chicken breast and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the chicken is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the chicken and cabbage stir fry over steamed jasmine rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for extra nutrition.
- You can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option.
