- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 medium Onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 medium Bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) Canned diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- 1 cup Shredded cheese (optional)
- 4 servings Cooked rice or pasta (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the canned diced tomatoes (with juice), chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and cover until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
- Serve over cooked rice or pasta.
