Description
This easy Mexican Tres Leches Cake is a moist and delicious dessert perfect for serving a crowd. It features a light sponge cake soaked in three types of milk, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh fruit (strawberries, mango, or berries) for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, combine the evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. Once the cake is cool, poke holes all over the top with a fork.
- Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake and top with fresh fruit.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
