Description
Crispy, golden-brown french fries made effortlessly in your air fryer. Enjoy a healthier version of your favorite snack with less oil and all the flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin, even strips to resemble french fries.
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This will help achieve maximum crispiness.
- Drain and rinse the potatoes, then pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried potato strips with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to do this in batches.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Cook until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your crispy air fryer french fries!
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, consider double frying: cook for 10 minutes, let them rest for a few minutes, and then cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings, such as onion powder, cayenne pepper, or fresh herbs.
