Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • 12 oz black candy melts
  • 12 oz white candy melts
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Black icing for decorating
  • Miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for caps

Instructions

  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add chocolate frosting and mix until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Insert lollipop sticks into each ball.
  4. Freeze the cake pops for about 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Melt the black candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy until fully coated, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Place the coated cake pops back on the parchment paper and let them set.
  7. Once set, use a small amount of melted white candy melts to attach a miniature Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup to the top of each cake pop, resembling a graduation cap.
  8. Use black icing to create a tassel on each cap for decoration.
  9. Serve and enjoy your graduation cap cake pops!
