- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Royal icing for decoration

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, place onto ungreased cookie sheets, and flatten slightly.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
- Let cool on wire racks before icing.
- Once cooled, use royal icing to decorate the cookies in fun nurse themes, such as stethoscopes, nurse hats, and medical symbols. Allow the icing to set before serving.
