Description

This peach cobbler features sweet, juicy peaches covered with a flaky, buttery crust, making it the perfect dessert for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, ripe peaches. You can substitute with canned peaches, but be sure to drain them well.
  • Feel free to add a sprinkle of oats or nuts to the topping for added texture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
