Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the top, including any juices.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- You can use frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available. Thaw and drain excess liquid before using.
- For added flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract to the peach mixture.
