  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped nuts or chocolate shavings for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine honey, sugar, and butter. Heat over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and baking soda. Add the honey mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts.
  4. Roll each part into a thin circle (about 8 inches in diameter) on a floured surface. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes until golden.
  5. For the cream, mix sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Once the layers are baked and cooled, spread the cream mixture between each layer.
  7. Cover the top and sides of the cake with the remaining cream. Decorate with nuts or chocolate shavings if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best flavor.

  • You can adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the cream.
