Celebrate your Taurus friend’s birthday with this rich and indulgent birthday cake, perfectly designed to capture the essence of Taurus – luxurious, indulgent, and delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is well combined (the batter will be thin).
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until combined.
  9. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract and beat until fluffy.
  10. Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of frosting on top.
  11. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.
  12. Decorate with chocolate shavings or sprinkles as desired.
  13. Slice, serve, and enjoy your Taurus birthday cake!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
  • This cake pairs wonderfully with fresh berries or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
